How to Cure Ringing Ears And Enjoy Life Again
Posted by: | Comments
Can you imagine living the rest of your life with a constant ringing in your ears? If you currently have no hearing problems of any kind, it may difficult for you to imagine such a life. Unfortunately for millions of others, this situation is a sad reality that they have to deal with. These people are desperate for news of a medical breakthrough that can effectively cure ringing ears, otherwise known as tinnitus. Currently, there is no known cure for the condition, but there are several treatment options that help prevent or minimize the distracting sound.
Although it is called ringing ears, the sound associated with tinnitus is not limited to constant ringing. You may also experience a humming, swishing, or buzzing sound, or any other unusual sound that seems to originate from inside your ears for that matter. While the condition is very seldom a cause for serious concern, it can be very annoying. You should also take the necessary steps to have your tinnitus evaluated properly, considering the possibility - no matter how remote - that the condition is a sign of a more serious health problem such as a brain tumor.
It is very unfortunate that there is no known method to cure ringing ears because millions of individuals, children and adults alike, have to cope with the annoying condition everyday and are struggling to lead normal lives. It would make these people very happy indeed if a cure for tinnitus were to be identified anytime soon. A bit of good news is that there are ways to reduce the intensity of the condition and lessen the volume of the noise that it involves.
Careful removal of excess ear wax is one of the most effective ways to lessen the intensity of tinnitus because this condition is often brought about by wax irritating the eardrums. The excess wax, or whatever foreign object that enters the ear, irritates the eardrums or blocks the inner ear, it prevents external sound from entering and results in tinnitus. If you are already suffering from ringing ears then it is best to have a physician remove the excess wax for you. Removing it yourself using an ear swab could push the wax deeper into the ear and make matters worse. While wax removal is technically not expected to totally cure ringing ears, it is very advisable and is in fact a practice of good hygiene.
Some people also turn to cochlear implants to address the problem of tinnitus. These implants are normally performed to make people hear the sounds around them more easily. When you are more able to hear the sounds around you, you will be less likely to notice the sounds that are coming from inside your ears, thereby making it easier to live with tinnitus. As with wax removal, cochlear implants are not meant to cure ringing ears but it can definitely make your life a lot more pleasant.
Although a cure has not yet been found for this condition, medical experts and researchers are continuing the search for effective techniques and treatments to help sufferers cope with tinnitus. Right now the most effective treatment is said to be the identification and treatment of the underlying cause of ringing ears. Hopefully, with continued research, a permanent cure will soon be found.

Hearing problem after flying?
Posted by: | CommentsI flew over a week ago with a head cold, and my ears got plugged up pretty severely. One cleared up, but the other has still not popped. I went to a GP and he said I had an ear infection and gave me antibiotics (which I have since taken and finished) and a nasal spray. But the ear is not better and now seems like I have slight tinnitus. I can lean my head way to the side and it clears a little, but when I turn back, it plugs up again. Sometimes, it feels like it might pop, but then it stays the same. What is this, and what more can I do? Do I need further medical treatment, or will it clear up on its own?
If you took the full course of the antibiotic, it may still be working. For example, Zithromax ‘Z-Pak’ is a 5 day dose, but the medication remains active in your system even after you have taken all the pills.
The fluid and pressure in the middle ear can take as long as 6-8 weeks to fully resolve. As long as you are feeling progressively better and there is no more pain or fever, simply continue with the nose spray. Once a full week has passed since completing the antibiotic (and/or if there is pain or fever) then return to the Doctor.
If leaning to the one side seems to help, try sleeping on that side to use gravity to assist in the drainage of the fluid.

Posted by: | CommentsHello everyone. Can anyone give me any information on tinnitus. My mom was diagnosed with it about a yr ago.At the time it was not so bad and since her doctor told her it is something that she will just have to learn to live with my mom never seeked any treatment. However recently I have noticed that her symptoms are getting worse. She seems to be loosing her hearing and can hardly keep focus. She does not want to admit it but I can tell it is taking control of her life. I hate to see my mom suffer like this. Anyone have any advice or information on what she can do. She doesnt have medical insurance but I am planning on making an appt for her. Thank you much.
Doctors are NOT going to help your mom with this problem because it is a nutritional issue and doctors do NOT understand how the body works in regard to nutrition.
Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) is often linked to INFECTION in the kidneys or urinary tract (often not found by typical lab tests); high protein consumption (esp. red meat), heavy metal toxicity from silver fillings (amaglams), mineral deficiency, weak adrenal glands; toxic liver (liver unable to process toxicity so kidneys become over burdened). If kidneys are weak, impaired lymph drainage is common.
When the kidneys become weak, many symptoms appear as well as Tinnitus, such as hearing weakens, physical strength weakens, energy levels drop off, brain, bones, teeth and fertility are all affected. A blow to the head can also cause Tinnitus.
Generally speaking, avoid toxic oils, like vegetable oils (canola, soybean, cottonseed, and corn oils are all toxic to the body), fried foods, hydrogenated oils. Avoid all hard to digest foods. Avoid food chemicals like MSG (labeled as "natural flavors, etc."), aspartame, preservatives, etc.).
Eat more cultured foods like Home Made Kefir, cultured vegetables, etc. Avoid eating after 7:00 pm. Avoid drinking fluids right before bed. Get sunlight everyday.

There is no cure, we just have to learn to tune it out as we tune out all the regular sounds around us.
It helps to have a radio on, but in time it will be barely noticeable. I find it annoying when the world is really quiet like at dawn, or sometimes when listening to quiet music, but can forget it much of the time.

Will This Help Your Oily Skin?
Posted by: | Comments
You may find salicylic acid in both prescription and non prescription (common referred to as over the counter) compounds. The medication is used in topical treatments, should not be ingested (taken orally) and can help a variety of skin conditions: acne, calluses, corns, common warts, plantar warts, psoriasis, and seborrheic dermatitis of both the skin and scalp.
Of these, acne and seborrheic dermatitis are both closely associated with the skins oil production and blockages that arise from overproduction of natural oils.
Treatment of the various conditions is through different application compounds and strengths, according to the condition. The acid is an active ingredient in many different types of compounds: creams, gels, liquids, lotions, ointments, pads, pastes, shampoos, and soaps.
It is important to follow instructions given with the product (or doctors instructions if prescribed). Pay attention to the warning labels and discontinue use if the listed warning signs develop. The federal government has the following guidelines to consider when using this medication:
Tell your doctor is you have had and reactions to salicylic acid or if you have had adverse reactions to preservatives or dyes which may be used in the compound.
Do not use if you are pregnant. Animal studies have shown a correlation between use of this medication and birth defects. This is linked to dosage amount and total area of the body to which the medication is applied. However, in the animal studies, the medication was given orally at an incredibly high dosage.
Talk to your doctor about breast-feeding while using this medication.
Use in children should be monitored by your pediatrician or dermatologist. Skin irritation is more likely in children and is absorbed more readily through childrens skin. Covering large areas or covering areas of application should not be done when used on children. This medication is not recommended for use on children under 2 years old.
When using on elderly patients, a doctor should monitor carefully because of the possibility that the patient may have age related blood vessel disease.
As always, make sure your doctor knows about all other medications being used to avoid possible drug interactions.
Make sure that the prescribing doctor knows if you have any of the following medical conditions: Blood Vessel Disease, Chicken Pox, Diabetes, Flu, Kidney Disease, Liver Disease, and Skin Disorders (such as, but not limited to, eczema and psoriasis).
You need to be careful about what you do to your skin while using this medication. The following list should be adhered to in order to reduce the chance of severe skin irritation:
Do not exfoliate.
Do not use toners (or other products) which contain alcohol.
Do not use compounds which contain peeling agents (alpha hydroxy acids are peeling agents).
Do not use other topical medications, including acne medications.
Do not use products which dry the skin.
Do not use medicated cosmetics.
The following list of warning signs should be referred to your doctor immediately as they can be signs of salicylate toxicity (especially in young children people who have kidney or liver problems):
Confusion
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Drowsiness (severe)
Headache (severe, chronic)
Lethargy
Light-headedness
Loss of hearing
Nausea
Psychological changes
Rapid Breathing
Stomach pain
Tinnitus (constant ringing, buzzing, or roaring in the ears)
Vomiting
If you miss a dose of this medication, you can apply it as soon as your remember, as long as it is not time for your next dose. If your next dose is to be applied soon, just skip the missed dose and resume proper dosing of this medication.
Avoidance of mild to severe side effects from this medication is best achieved through carefully following dosage instructions, whether the instructions come from your doctor or they come from labeling. It is important that you do not use more than is recommended in each dose or use the medication more often than is recommended.

Stop Tinnitus Symptoms

Tinnitus may affect more than half of the American population. A curable ailment within the inner ear canal, tinnitus is noticed by continual ringing, hissing & swishing noises in ears that will not subside. When you suffer from tinnitus, you will feel like you’re insane and no one else can hear the noises.
But you don’t have to suffer - tinnitis symptoms are curable.
5 Small Steps To Silence Tinnitus Symptoms:
Tinnitus symptoms may be common amongst more than twenty five percent of the American population. A curable ailment originating from problems in the inner ear canal, tinnitus is inherent with endless buzzing, ringing or swishing noises that never subside. When the levels of ear ringing are high, it can constitute feelings of insanity and leave you feeling all alone. But you don’t have to feel isolated - noises in ears can be treated and homeopathic treatments have helped many sufferers ease the pain.
tinnitis symptoms can come in a single episode, temporarily for a few days or weeks, or for good. The noises in ears can interfere with an individual’s ability to concentrate and may also cause sleep disturbance with the noises in ears.
General tinnitis symptoms and Causes
* Immense ear wax. When excess wax builds up in the ear canal, it can weaken the ability to hear outside noises and may worsen noises in ears.
* Otis media is the medical term for a middle ear infection or inflammation of the middle ear. If left undiagnosed or untreated, Otis media can lead to infection of the mastoid bone behind the ear, a ruptured ear drum, and hearing loss. Sometimes, tinnitus symptoms begin again following a middle ear infection.
* Brain or head injury. General symptoms of a brain or head injury include loss of consciousness, confusion, drowsiness, personality change, seizures, nausea, headache and vomiting. Roughly 25% of individuals who sustain a brain or head trauma, experience tinnitis symptoms following the injury.
* Meniere’s disease is a disorder of the inner ear that affects balance and hearing. The tinnitus experienced by Meniere’s patients is continual and does not subside with time, although its levels may vary.
* Otosclerosis is an abnormal bone growth in the middle ear that causes noises in ears. About 75% of people with otosclerosis also experience tinnitis symptoms.
* Weak Circulation may be an indication of a serious heart disorder. Common symptoms of poor circulation include cold hands and feet, white fingers, dizziness when standing quickly, numbness, varicose veins, migraine headaches, tinnitus and noises in ears.
* High Blood Cholesterol: High blood cholesterol clogs arteries that supply oxygen to the nerves of the inner ear. Lowering blood cholesterol levels may reduce tinnitis symptoms.
A helpful tinnitus fact:
Ginkgo biloba has been known to help symptoms of tinnitus as well as depression and your memory.
5 Steps To Silence - Ease Common Tinnitus Symptoms
* Avoid all loud sounds and noisy places.
* Avoid total silence try and mask the tinnitus with white noise.
* Avoid exorbitant use of alcohol, caffeine, or aspirin.
* Wear ear protection when using chain saws, guns, lawn mowers, loud music or power tools. Exposure to loud noises can make tinnitus worse and can also cause additional hearing loss.
* Control stress levels and learn how to relax in stressful situations.
Most people with tinnitus also suffer from anxiety and lack of sleep. At night when all is quiet, the ringing in your ears may sound louder, making it harder to sleep. The lack of sleep, in turn makes you more tired during the day which increases your anxiety and stress. Poor sleep induces depression, negative thoughts and a resultant higher level of anxiety and tinnitus symptoms.
