Archive for natural tinnitus treatments

My older brother is in the U.S. army and he just finished up four tours in afghanistan, and somalia. He is happy to be back home but he has been suffering from a loud buzzing in his ears. He told me it sounds almost like a jackhammer at times. We have spoke to the doctor and he says it may be Tinnitus and there is no cure. So I was hoping someone would give us advice maybe there is some natural treatment? some medication? or some technique that will reduce the pain for him. He wants to start working as an engineer and get married soon but this is becoming a major roadblock in his life! Please help!!!

It has to be the bullets (including other high pitched sounds) that have done this to your brother’s ears.

Utilize masking noise. Tinnitus is usually more bothersome when the surroundings are quiet, especially when you are in bed. A competing sound such as a ticking clock, a radio, a fan or white noise machine may help mask tinnitus. Small hearing aid like devices which generate a competitive sound may help reduce the awareness of the tinnitus. You may combine such maskers along with herbal & homeopathic remedies.

Valium, Xanax and Klonopin are benzodiazepine drugs that many doctors prescribe for tinnitus. These are conventional medications which achieve only limited success in tinnitus relief, and usually their bothersome side effects such as dry mouth, blurred vision, and constipation often discourage use.

They are addicting to varying degrees and cannot be used continuously for a long period of time. They are helpful in reducing tinnitus symptoms and aid in sleeping. Valium is the most addicting of these and is not used often for this reason.

Xanax is very popular and is prescribed often for tinnitus. However, the ATA (American Tinnitus Association) report on medications that cause tinnitus lists Xanax as causing it in 6.6% of cases.

There is actually no cure for tinnitus with the conventional medicine. Actually, since last many years, the onus has been on the herbal industry to provide relief, if any, to tinnitus sufferers.

Tinnitus is usually due to damage to the microscopic ends of the hearing nerve in the inner ear. Perfect hearing is possible only if these nerves remain healthy and any damage to these nerves results in tinnitus or hearing impairment.

Some herbal remedies exist which can be used to support all body systems involved in helping the ear to perform its tasks of clear hearing and balance, as well as the circulatory, cardiovascular, and nervous systems.

Some of the most common herbs & biochemic tissue salts used are
• Ginkgo Biloba is excellent for a number of cerebral and circulatory disorders. It is probably the most widely-used herb for tinnitus and many sufferers swear by this natural ingredient.
• Rosemary dilates and strengthens blood vessels and is an excellent circulation tonic. Rosemary is particularly useful for tinnitus that is caused or worsened by high blood pressure and other circulatory conditions.
• Avena Sativa is effective in reducing high cholesterol levels which can contribute to circulatory problems which cause tinnitus.
• Wild Hyssop s also useful in reducing pain and inflammation.
• Salicylic Ac. (30C) is indicated for tinnitus with loud roaring or ringing sounds, which may be accompanied by deafness or vertigo. This remedy is particularly useful in people whose symptoms began with a bout of flu, Meniere’s disease or long-term use of aspirin.
• Ferrum phosphoricum (Ferrum phos. D6) is a homeopathic biochemic tissue salt which supports the absorption of iron in the body. The protective myelin sheath which surrounds all nerve tissue needs iron to supply this vital nutrient to the nerve cells it encases. Regular use of Ferrum phos. can help to prevent dizziness, headaches and restlessness and is of great benefit for those who tend to feel irritable, tense and tired.
• Magnesium phosphate (Mag. phos. D6) well-known as a homeopathic painkiller, Mag. phos. is also of great benefit to the health of the nerves. It acts as a natural anti-spasmodic and a nerve and muscle relaxant and is also frequently recommended for stress headaches.

Hope all this helps

Good Luck!

Shortly after the turn of the new year, I honestly went to bed with perfectly fine skin, I woke the next morning with ~ 10 zits on my face. The next morning, I woke with an ~ 10 more. The next I woke with an additional ~10 more. I immediately tried treating them with OTC things. I do not recall the order, but I tried the AcneFree system, Clean-andClear "Morning Burst" "Oxygenating" Scrub, a Murad Adult Acne system, something called Trioxil and as my skin got more sensitive and less responsive, I tried an Olay blemish control product with only 0.5% Salicyclic Acid. I read on webmd about adult acne and saw the recommendation for alpha hydroxy acids, which the Olay and Murad products already had in them, but this lead me to try stronger AHA. I tried every product frrom Aqua Gylcolic.

After a month of experimenting, my skin was so sensitive, I couldn’t even use sensitive skin washes. I went to a dermatologist. She gave me adapalene. I tried that plus changing facial washes literally every day and even was forced for one week to go 3 days without washing at all b/c of extreme pain in the skin, and I’d never even used any of these products for more than twice a day.

About a week into the Adapalene (Epiduo) treatment, my skin sensitivity was somewhat under control. I found that if I merely washed with the AcneFree toner and no soap just once daily, I could apply the adapalene twice daily with only very minor irritation. About a week later, I switched to washing my face with Tom’s of Maine Soap b/c I liked the idea that it only had 4 ingredients, all natural as opposed to the 20 to 40 chemicals in a typical soap even for sensitive skin and with extremely weird chemicals.

After a month of the adapalene, I went back to the dermatologist. It seems over the months of January (OTC treatment) and February (adapalene treatment), NOTHING at all had changed about the zits. In fact, they exhibit a very strange behavior. They’ll come to a head, sometimes pop themselves and sometimes I’d pop them, and then they’d remain the same size, same redness and about a week later come to a head again, never going away or changing shape, size or color. This remains the case today.

The deramtologist then prescribed topical clindamycin in Benzaclin. I have been on this for nearly 4 weeks now. Nothing is changing still!!! The zits seem permanently stuck at their original size, shape, location, elevation and color.

My mother suggested perhaps it’s not at all acne. She suggested perhaps an allergy. I tried taking Benadryl, Clariton and Zantac (yes, a little kwon fact for allergic reactions). To no surprise, no change.

And oh, as part of my home treatment, from the very start of the "acne," I have been taking 90mg zinc as gluconate and oxide mix with 2 mg copper daily. Even though I had never had bad acne EVER, not even in puberty, I still picked up on this tip ~20 years ago. It’s not helping so apparently there is no need to continue. Nothing is helping so apparently there is no need to continue.

To this day, I wash every morning with Tom’s of Maine and apply the Benzaclin before work. At night, I ‘wash" my face with the AcneFree Toner which has witch hazel and niacinamide and then apply Benzaclin again. This seems to produce only modest irritation. My skin basically burns nonstop but at a very acceptable level, and the skin doesn’t get noticeably red apart from the zits. However, the zits don’t change one iota. They look EXACTLY the same as they did nearly 2-1/2 months ago.

As anotther interesting side note. Approximately one week into the acne, I developed bilateral tinnitus of the classicaly type — constant ringing, 24/7. I knew I had an "auditory" sensitivity to Salicylates for years b/c even moderate doses of aspirin have produced transient tinnitus years earlier, even before I knew aspirin could cause such. However, these past incidences passed after ~24 hrs. This tinnitus remains 2 months later, and I have not used any salicylates topical or oral. It has not changed one bit either. It is the same intensity 24/7.

This seems a little odd to me to say the least.

Also, about one month ago, I started Burdock orally since it has been a tradition for skin conditions through the centuries though with absolutely no scientific basis. I will likely stop it soon (today).

Nothing had changed in my diet, in my lifestyle, in the washing detergent or fabric softner I use, in the close I wear or ANYTHING! Just BOOM!!! Out of nowhere. "Here buddy. Have a lifetime’s worth of zits."

I consider myself to eat healthy. I’d describe my diet as balanced. I rarely eat out, literally maybe once every 2 weeks. i normally go to the grocery store and buy mostly fruits, veggies and grains. I do not overindulge. I do not deprive myself. I do not eat on irregular schedules. I feel I eat light breakfast, lunch and dinner. I do not snack. I rarely eat junk foods. I typically only have

I would like answers from doctors, but I don’t want to hear that it’s hopeless. There must be some way to stop or at least reduce that hideous ringing sound in my ears. I find it very hard to believe that in our modern times there is still no specific treatment for tinnitus and I am willing to try anything even if it’s not scientifically proven. So here’s my specific situation…

For a few weeks now I have had constant tinnitus which came out of nowhere, accompanied by "popping" sounds in my ears when I swallow or yawn, a weird feeling in the back of my throat I can’t really explain, and occasional mild headaches.

During this time I have only been able to get to sleep at around 5am, because that’s when the birds come out and tweet in the morning (Helping to distract me from the hideous ringing noises). Because of this I have been losing valuable hours of sleep, which doesn’t help me. So here are my questions…

Q1: Is it best to use tinnitus-masking CDs containing natural sounds, like rain and waves, or are plain old white noise CDs more effective?

Q2: What foods or dietary changes can I make to reduce tinnitus?

Q3: If my tinnitus is NOT noise-induced, can loud noise still make it worse?

Q4: If I’m listening to music, which audio formats are best to listen to through headphones, i.e. are low-bit rate MP3s bad for the ears? What sound format is safer?

Q5: Since my tinnitus hasn’t gotten any better in the last few weeks, is it likely that I will become a permenant sufferer?

Thank you for taking the time to read. I have had tinnitus my whole life to a certain degree, but never this bad. Any advice you could give would be delightful.

As a thumb rule, avoid too much exposure to loud noises, music, speakers, and professional activities which involve high frequency sounds. Which music is goos for you, decide yourself as you will be the best judge. Just make sure its not loud.

A few things that you can do to alleviate your tinnitus symptoms with the help of your diet are by incorporating certain foods that contain these vital minerals and vitamins that help in tinnitus in their own ways.

Zinc supplements have been used to treat people who had both tinnitus and hearing loss (usually age-related)

People who are exposed to loud noise on the job and who subsequently develop tinnitus have been found to be generally deficient in Vitamin B12.

The other important vitamins needed are A, B and E, which you can get easily if your diet is full of fresh fruits and vegetable.

Avoid saturated fats as their consumption leads to you developing all kinds of circulatory problems and also high blood pressure.

Tinnitus Cures - Proven Methods That Can Help You Stop the Ringing

Since so many people suffer from tinnitus, doctors around the world have been searching for tinnitus cures that prove successful to treat this inner ear problem. After doing a number of tests they have introduced a variety of proven tinnitus cures. Because these treatments are for one of the most sensitive parts of the human body, they are mostly natural cures for tinnitus. When tinnitus is treated with natural medication, it results in a gentle healing process with little or no side effects. This enables people with tinnitus to relax and know that they are being completely cured without problems.

Although they are commonly referred to as “treatments” and “cures” the ways of correcting tinnitus are usually based on correcting a bigger problem of nutritional deficiency or ear canal blockage. They also provide protection for inner ear infections. With most treatments, it is best to not mess with your ears as this can get dirt and debris in the ear canal and make the problem worse, causing deafness in the worst situations.

With all of the natural treatments out there including, sleep, herbal remedies that actively reduce stress, devices and ear training that prevent you from hearing the constant ringing in your ears, it is easy to solve the problem of tinnitus.

When you are dealing with natural treatments or tinnitus cures it is important to remember that they do not act as quickly as the artificial treatments. This is because they are actually causing your body to heal instead of just covering up the symptoms of the disorder. Time does not heal tinnitus without help and it is important to get this help as soon as possible as waiting will cause the problem to get worse and can cause you to damage your ears. People have been known to break the small internal bones of the ear canal in their sleep to try to stop the noise. It can also cause problems while walking and driving because it affects your balance and causes vertigo like problems.

I have tinnitus, does Sonarx work?

Posted by: admin | Comments (2)

I was diagnosed with tinnitus this week and have been researching natural treatment as I dont like prescriptions, i found a product called sonarx at www.sonarxreview.com
Does anyone know if this will treat my tinnitus? it claims it will help the symptoms which is exactly what i want!

I have no Idea about that particular product but do know that ringing in the ears can be caused by lack of magnesium and or cloged ear canals.

I would try the magnesium first because it is cheap and easy to find. You can get that at Walmart or any Health food store.

There is another product that works well also it is called Ring Stop.
Just do a search on the net. It is pretty cheap too.

Are you looking for natural tinnitus remedies? If so, read on as I will explain what are the best natural treatment to solve your ringing ears problem.

I remembered a few years ago I had tinnitus. This is not a harmful disease such as tumor or cancer but still it is quite annoying to have. However, it can still be annoying and frustrating as you hear ringing sounds all day.

1. Several Causes Of Tinnitus

You may not believe it but the cause of tinnitus is simpler than you may think. No, it is not because of virus or things like that. Tinnitus happens simply because of unhealthy lifestyle and loud music.

Medical treatment will not help you out. If you visit your doctor, most often your doctor only gives a medicine that only addresses the symptoms but not cure your tinnitus permanently. Meanwhile, hundreds of years ago, natural treatment has been used successfully to cure tinnitus.

You might be careful over the cause of your tinnitus. Some people experience tinnitus due to sinus, stress or brain problems. If this is the cause of your tinnitus then you must take completely different approach to cure it.

2. Using Natural Remedies To Get Rid Of Tinnitus

There are several natural treatments in readymade package available on health and food stores. In spite of many products being launched by herbalists nowadays, generally speaking, you want the product to consist a combination of these several ingredients: gingko biloba, wild hyssop, rosemary and wild oats.

Gingko biloba has several effects for example: as antioxidant so it can reduce the possibility of nervous system disorder, promote vascular efficiency, and as a tonic to streamline circulatory functions and neurotransmitter. Because of its importance, you want to make sure this important ingredient is included in any herbal package you buy.

Wild hyssop also has an effect of stimulating brain sensitivity and nervous system similar like gingko biloba. These two natural ingredients can cure your tinnitus without giving any side effects at all, making it a popular alternative to cure tinnitus.

The cause of tinnitus is simple than you may think. It is because unhealthy lifestyle and repetitive exposure to loud music. Natural treatment has given a better track record in curing tinnitus successfully rather than medical treatment.

Tinnitus…PLEASE HELP :(?

Posted by: admin | Comments (2)

Hi everyone… on Monday I started having this really annoying ringing type of noise in my left ear and I thought it would go away by the next day…unfortunately that is not the case. I ended up going to the urgent care clinic where I was told I have "tinnitus". The doctor looked into both of my ears and said he cannot see any type of disease or anything that would have to do with tinnitus but concluded that since I have this ringing in my ear, it must be tinnitus. He said I should wait a few more days to see if it will go away but this is really affecting my life. I WANT RELIEF! I’m only 23 years old…why the hell is this happening to me? I can’t concentrate and go about my daily routine because of this new interference. I have scheduled an appointment with my family doctor for Monday but until then I’m trying to figure out what to do to mask this annoyance.

So after doing quite a bit of research on tinnitus, I discovered that it is not curable which ultimately freaked me out…putting me into a very sad state and depression. It seems like the ringing noise in my ear is getting worse by the day… Also, I read that there are some treatments but many of them vary in effectiveness.

so my question to those who have tinnitus and had some treatment, what would you recommend? I really don’t care if it is a natural treatment or pills or whatever…I’m growing desperate…PLEASE HELP!

The fact it is in one ear and came on suddenly should alarm you. You said that it is getting worse by the day this is not good. You need to see a specialist. Perhaps an ear, nose and throat doctor. I know a friend at work that had similar symptoms and it turned out to be a noncancerous tumor on her brain stem. If this continues to get worse and the doctor seems dismissive get to a teaching hospital in a large city for evaluation.

Until now, no magic pill has been invented against tinnitus. There is also no definitely cure for all people who suffer from tinnitus. The only good news is that lots of research is being done to find an explanation for it and an effective treatment for it. Anyway, tinnitus can be quieted, although this is by no means a cure.

The underlying cause of it is still not fully understood. Researchers know that people with tinnitus suffered a harm in their inner ears, mostly caused by constant exposure to loud noises. However, no one knows for sure why some people suffer a permanent damage and others only a temporary damage after being exposed to loud sound.

Tinnitus is in some cases caused by a disease not related to our hearing habits. No amount of loud sounds is needed to trigger it in some cases. If the health problems are cured, tinnitus will disappear in these cases, since there is no permanent ear damage that cannot be repaired.

The most simple treatment is the removal of excess wax by an audiologist or physician. It is definitely not a cure, but it helps in some cases. Some not seriously affected people feel like they were cured, after a wax cleaning.

The most common treatment against tinnitus is drug therapy. It definitely provides relief to most patients. However, some drugs have also side-effects.

The technically most advanced solution is a cochlear implant. Many people with hearing loss have found tinnitus relief using a device called a cochlear implant. The cochlear implant helps these individuals hear the world around them, it also helps diminish the tinnitus. This is no cure, however, it has proven to provide effective relief from severe tinnitus symptoms. And after you have had your fill of these type of treatments. Go can go the natural.
